SALT LAKE CITY – April 10, 2018 – The Utah 1033 Foundation is proud to announce the addition of Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes to its Board of Trustees.

“We’re delighted that Mr. Reyes has agreed to join our Board of Trustees,” said Foundation president Dave Kaufman. “He has supported us in the past by serving as a fundraising keynote speaker, but this closer relationship will provide us greater access to his guidance and expertise with respect to law enforcement in Utah, and we couldn’t be more grateful.”

Sean Reyes has been Utah Attorney General since his appointment on December 30, 2013 by Governor Gary R. Herbert. After graduating summa cum laude from Brigham Young University in 1994, Reyes earned his law degree with honors from U.C. Berkeley in 1997. He practiced for nearly fourteen years at Parsons Behle & Latimer, the largest law firm in the State. While there, Reyes argued or briefed cases before state and federal courts throughout the country, including the Utah Supreme Court and Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.

“The Utah 1033 Foundation serves our State’s peace officers and their families, who step up to the front line of duty to give of themselves in every possible way — physically, mentally, and emotionally,” said Reyes. “They are true heroes, but this kind of service takes a toll. Many of these brave men and women suffer personally, even to the extent of loss of life in the line of duty. To be part of an organization that supports those who spend their lives protecting the rest of us is an honor. I am proud to join the Board of Trustees and support the Fallen Officers Fund, Family Education Trust Fund, Leadership Awards, motorcycle rides, fundraisers and other initiatives The Utah 1033 Foundation sponsors.”
