Santaquin Police Sergeant Bill Hooser was fatally struck by a semitruck on the side of Interstate 15 in Santaquin, Utah.   During a traffic stop performed by a Utah Highway Patrol Trooper and Sergeant Hooser in separate patrol cars, the driver of the semitruck allegedly drove away from the scene, performed a U-turn and, driving against Interstate traffic, struck both patrol cars and Sergeant Hooser, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sergeant Hooser had served with the Santaquin Police Department since 2017, and was 50 years of age.  He is survived by his wife of 29 years, two daughters, and a granddaughter.
