Hundreds of motorcycle riders showed up on Sunday, June 23rd to participate in The 3rd Annual Utah 1033 Ride. Everyone had an amazing day, highlighted by an Honor Guard ceremony at DeJoria Center at Highstar Ranch, and by incredibly moving speeches from South Salt Lake Police Chief Jack Carruth and from Shante Johnson, widow of fallen Draper City Police Sergeant Derek Johnson. The Ride itself was held on an especially beautiful day — sunny skies and mild temperatures, and the entire procession rolled into the DeJoria Center happy not only to have enjoyed the Ride on such a beautiful day, but to have raised so much money for such a great cause. Between registration fees, merchandise sales, the live auction, and our event sponsors, we collectively raised over $26,000 for The Utah 1033 Foundation and its mission!
The entire team at The Utah 1033 Foundation would like express our deepest gratitude to everyone who came out and participated, to Ride Czar extraordinaire Mary Lee Robinson for her tireless organization and leadership, to all of our volunteers, to our emcees Mick and Allen from KBER 101, to Chief Carruth and Shante Johnson for their heartfelt remarks from the stage, to the band Paper Elephant for their wonderful music performance, and to all our sponsors:
