The Utah 1033 Foundation will provide immediate financial assistance to the families of a fallen police officer. The very day we find out about a line-of-duty death, someone from the 1033 will visit with the family and dependents of the officer and present a check to them in the amount of $25,000.

Police officers in Utah have death benefits that vary widely from agency to agency. One common thread among them is that these payments are not available to dependents for some time. The 1033 provides support for immediate, unavoidable expenses, such as funeral arrangements and travel, as well as day to day expenses like mortgages and groceries.

We cannot take away a family’s grief, but perhaps our contribution can help, and make a difference in a difficult time.

As we grow our foundation, we plan to provide full scholarships to the children of fallen Utah Police officers. In addition, when funding is available, we will offer scholarships to the children of all Utah police officers on a competitive basis.
